Sherwood’s Academy of Hospitality and Tourism is a 2 or 3 year program completer designed to prepare students who are interested in careers or college degrees in the exciting world of Hospitality and Tourism.
In year 1 (usually 10th grade) students take a full year course: Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism. This course introduces students to the vast career possibilities in the Hospitality and Tourism field while also teaching the basic skills necessary to obtain employment as well as investigating college degree programs.
Year 2 the students enroll in Geography for Hospitality and Tourism. Students investigate the physical and cultural geography of the world with special emphasis on travel destinations.
Between Junior and Senior year the students complete a paid summer internship in an area of interest to them.
During Senior year the Academy students take the Business and Entrepreneurship course where they fine tune their skills and understanding of the world of business.
