SSL and Open House on Monday, October 8th

Sherwood will be holding a Student Service Learning (SSL) Fair all day during the upcoming Open House Day on October 8th.  This event is being held to encourage students to find an organization offering SSL hours in an area that interests them.  Montgomery County schools are increasing their efforts to make students and their families aware of opportunities because the number of SSL hours required for graduation has increased from 60 to 75 hours, for students in the class of 2011 and beyond.

The Fair will be held in the media center where students will visit various stations that will showcase what they do and how the students can get involved.  Freshman through Juniors will be visiting during one of their classes that day. Seniors that are still in need of hours will be receiving a personal invitation to attend during their lunch or at any other time they are available that day.  All Seniors are invited to visit during the day.  We strongly encourage parents to drop by the media center during their visit so they, too, may learn what is available and encourage their teens to participate.  General information about SSL hours will also be provided during the fair.
