October 4th: Construction Progress Report Meeting
Activity in the last two weeks:
- Backfill of new sewer line completed
- Completed excavation to grade on the site and new roadway areas
- Begin storm water pond repairs
- Continued concrete footings and foundation for addition
- For greenhouse: roughed in waterline; continued work on exterior and interior walls, started brick veneer; and continued electrical and plumbing rough-in in walls.
The next two weeks, they plan on continuing work on concrete footings on main and lower level of addition, and rough in water lines for greenhouse.
The school is working with the construction company on timing of construction vehicle deliveries during the day to ensure safety of our students. Sherwood has requested deliveries try not to take place during peak hours of the day:
- Before school ( 7-7:15 AM)
- Lunch (10:30-11:30 AM)
- Dismissal ( 2 – 2:20 PM)
Some delivery trucks are time-sensitive (i.e. concrete). Security personnel is outside each morning and the plan is to also alert them to any deliveries especially during these peak times.
In the current design, there is a folding wall between computer rooms. The school has asked to delete this folding wall and replace with a standard wall. Sherwood currently has a folding wall that is not utilized in the computer area.
