Bomb Threat
From Mr. Gregory, Sherwood Principal:
Dear Sherwood High School Community:
This morning, Sherwood High School was notified of a non-specific low-level bomb threat. The school was evacuated as a precaution. Police and fire officials came to the school to sweep the building and to ensure that it is safe.
We are taking this threat very seriously. A student at Sherwood has been identified as the perpetrator. Be assured that the most stringent consequences will be sought. Making such threats is a federal offense that carries felony charges.
I commend our students and our staff for the way they handled this emergency. They realized the seriousness of this incident, followed emergency procedures, and took care of one another.
I also want to thank staff from Montgomery County Public Schools, the police department and the fire department for their commitment to school safety. When they were notified of the incident, they arrived at school immediately, worked closely with school officials, and attended to the needs of our school.
Sincerely,
William M. Gregory, Principal
